3 Haunted Rockford Locations You Can Investigate This Halloween
In case you didn't know, Rockford, Illinois, is haunted (I'm only slightly joking), and this upcoming Haunted Rockford tour will take you inside three of the city's most haunted locations.
Haunted History Fanatic
As someone who has lived in the Rockford area for decades, I love learning about the history of this community and wondering what might have happened inside the walls of Rockford's oldest buildings.

I also love reading about haunted places, creepy local history, and unexplained paranormal activity, but actually experiencing any of that stuff in person? Yeah, that's going to be a hard pass for me.
I may be able to spend hours reading ghost stories from the comfort of my couch, but put me inside a supposedly haunted building after dark, and I will likely have an anxiety attack. Seriously.
That's why I find Haunted Rockford's upcoming event, Rockford's Most Haunted, so fascinating. If you're braver than I am and have always wanted to explore some of Rockford's most notoriously haunted locations, this is the perfect tour for you.

Haunted Rockford Is Taking You Inside 3 Historic Locations
On Saturday, October 24, 2026, Haunted Rockford is giving paranormal enthusiasts the chance to investigate three historic Rockford locations that have a long history of ghostly encounters and other unexplained activity.
The event runs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., and participants will visit these three locations:
- Veterans Memorial Hall: The historic (and haunted) building at 211 N. Main Street in Rockford serves as the starting point for the evening.
- Tinker Swiss Cottage Museum: This home is often called the most haunted place in Rockford.
- Graham-Ginestra House: Another historic Rockford-area location with plenty of ghostly stories to share.
During this tour, you will hear the history behind these locations from their staff and local historian Kathi Kresol, who is well known for her work researching Rockford's haunted history.

I must warn you: this isn't just a history tour where you listen to creepy stories and then head home. Experienced paranormal investigators will also be there with equipment to help visitors try to capture evidence of paranormal activity. (Yikes!)
Tickets for Rockford's Most Haunted are $50 and must be purchased in advance here.
If you're more adventurous than I am, the Rockford's Most Haunted tour definitely sounds like a fascinating way to spend an October evening, but don't be surprised if you come home with a few stories that make you leery to step inside those buildings again!
If you go and happen to capture anything unusual on camera, please send me a message through the app. I would absolutely love to read about it... from my couch, obviously.
