Since moving to Pecatonica a few years ago, Ridott Corners has become one of our go-to places to eat.
Is it a huge, fancy restaurant? Absolutely not, but that's why we love it.
Is the menu stacked with a bunch of food options to choose from? Nope, just burgers, pizza, and grilled cheese, and ALL of it is delicious!
For years, Ridott Corners has built a reputation for serving juicy, cooked-to-order, 1/2 pound burgers that require both hands and several napkins to eat.
My kids may not appreciate the thickness of Ridott Corners' burgers, or the fact that they don't serve French fries there, but I think that's what makes the place so special.
Ridott Corners' thick, delicious 'World Famous Burgers' have attracted people from all over the Rockford area and beyond for years, but now they are considering adding something new to the menu and fans have strong opinions about it.
Smashburgers at Ridott Corners?
On June 5, Ridott Corners asked one very important question on Facebook, and I'm not sure they were prepared for the responses they received:
Smashburgers feature thinner patties that are pressed onto a hot griddle to create crispy edges and extra flavor. They are basically the complete opposite of the thick burgers Ridott Corners has become famous for, but is that a bad thing? I sure don't think so!
What do you think? Should Ridott Corners stick with the giant burgers that made them a local legend, or is it time to add smashburgers to the lineup too?
