American Pickers has crossed Missouri many times over the past couple of decades looking for classic items they can buy, restore and then resell. There's a new video share that looks back at the time when they found a classic 1937 Harley hiding inside a Missouri barn.

The TV show American Pickers has been a favorite for many in Missouri as both Mike and Frank often visited the state looking for off-the-beaten-path treasures. The episode entitled "Easy Riders" aired on July 26, 2010 according to IMDb. The synopsis of that episode said "The guys are in Missouri, and after picking an inherited old farm with plenty of promise, they follow up on the ultimate lead. Danielle has tracked down a prolific collector of 'mantiques' with a rare 1937 Harley Knucklehead motorbike". By the way, that Harley Knucklehead is reportedly worth between $80,000 and $150,000 completely restored.

On that episode, Mike bought the 1937 Harley for just over $18,000 and the mechanic he took it to for fixing up immediately offered him a cool $25,000 before even getting it running. On the same episode, Frank bought a custom-built Kawasaki cycle for just over $4,000. The guys also found a 1970's era KISS pinball machine they bought for $200 with plans to restore it and sell it for a lot more.

I accidentally met Frank Fritz of American Pickers when I was getting my oil changed in Hannibal more than a decade ago. As I recall, he was wearing a black baseball hat and shades sitting in the waiting area where all the rest of us were waiting for our cars. As we were sitting there, another guy leaned over and said "Hey Frank, I love your show". He politely thanked him and shared a little small talk. That's when I recognized who he was. Frank sadly passed away on September 30, 2024 in Davenport, Iowa.
